Σhe phenomenon of globalisation nowadays constitutes word - emblem. There is a plethora of discussions and analyses about the politico-economic globalisation, the globalisation of information, the globalisation of labor etc. A lot of people believe that the globalization is the achievement of the Transnational Corporations (TNC), whose power continuously increase and their activities are extended all over the world. As a result, the parent company's countries of TNCs become more and more powerful coordinating the global financing system and the global flows. Given the significance of the phenomenon worldwide, the study of particular aspects of Greek industrial globalization is necessary. It is interesting to focus on the Greek industries and especially on how these react to the global changes and also on what kind of corporate strategies are chosen. This thesis titled “Organisation and International Geographic Structure of Greek Industries best in sales 2002-2005” represents the aspects of the phenomenon of globalisation. In addition, it examines not only the effect of the globalisation on the subset of Greek industries which were best in sales during the period 2002-2005 but also the geographic dimension of their strategies. The thesis is constituted in two parts: The theoretical part, which through Greek and foreign bibliography introduces basic aspects relative with the object examined and The research, worked out by the Prof. Eleftheria Karnavou AUTH, Dr. Gritzas George AUTH, Louka Evanthia, Agricultural and Surveying engineer and postgraduate student of AUTH and Mpoutoura Aikaterini, Architect Engineer and postgraduate student of AUTH. The theoretical part includes the following thematic units: 1) The meaning of Globalisation 2) Organisational structures of the enterprises 3) Transnational Corporation (TNC) 4) Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) 14 / Δπαλζέα ΛνπθΪ Analytically, the first chapter refers to the meaning of the globalisation and some of its expressions. In the second chapter, it is examined the strategic location of the enterprises, the strategies of their development, the forms of entrepreneurial activities and the vertical or horizontal integration of their production. The third chapter has to do with the TNCs, like the types and the basic functions of these and finally the fourth chapter with the FDI, for example the forms, the types and the economic theories of these. The research in the Greek industries (Chapters 5 and 6) comprises of: the formation of the questionnaire, the choice of the companies to which the questionnaire is addressed, the formation of the database which includes the answers of the companies that participate in the research, from the interpretation of the answers, the conclusions about the Greek industry through the interpretation.
