Ο ναός του Αγίου Πολυκάρπου, που βρίσκεται στην περιοχή της αρχαίας Τανάγρας, ανήκει στον τύπο των μονόχωρων δρομικών θολωτών με ένα σφενδόνιο ναών. Με βάση τα σωζόμενα μορφολογικά (κυρίως στην κόγχη του ιερού) και κατασκευαστικά του στοιχεία, μπορεί να χρονολογηθεί στον 13ο ή στον 14ο αιώνα και να συνδεθεί με τη ναοδομική δραστηριότητα της περιοχής του Συκαμίνου – Ωρωπού, καθώς και της απέναντι περιοχής της Εύβοιας.

The church of St Polykarpos, in the area of ancient Tanagra, is of a single-aisle dromical type with vaulted roof and one strainer arch.
