Η εικόνα με την απεικόνιση της Ιερουσαλήμ και των Αγίων Τόπων που φυλάσσεται σήμερα στο Μουσείο της Ζακύνθου, προέρχεται από τον ναό της Αγίας Αικατερίνης των Κήπων, μετόχι της μονής Σινά. Εικονογραφικά η εικόνα της Ζακύνθου ακολουθεί την παράδοση της απεικόνισης των Αγίων Τόπων της οποίας οι απαρχές ξεκινούν ήδη από τα παλαιοχριστιανικά χρόνια, ενώ τεχνοτροπικά είναι πιο κοντά στις μεταγενέστερες ξυλογραφίες, χαλκογραφίες ή τα εικονογραφημένα χειρόγραφα προσκυνητάρια του 17ου αιώνα. Πιθανώς η εικόνα να κατασκευάστηκε στην Κρήτη κατά το πρώτο μισό του 17ου αιώνα για εκκλησία αφιερωμένη στην Αγία Ιερουσαλήμ, αλλά κατέληξε στη Ζάκυνθο με τους Κρήτες πρόσφυγες μετά τα μέσα του 17ου αιώνα, όπως μπορεί να τεκμηριωθεί και αρχειακά.

In the Museum of Zakynthos an icon has been treasured from the church of Saint Catherine at Kepoi, a dependency of the monastery of Sinai, which depicts the Holy Land. In terms of iconography, the Zakynthos icon follows the great tradition of the depiction of the Loca Sancta whose origins date back to the Early Christian period. However, in terms of style, the icon follows the later engravings and prints or the illuminated manuscript proskynetaria of the 17th century. Presumably, the icon was painted in Crete and was destined for a church dedicated to the Holy Jerusalem, but ended up in Zakynthos with the Cretan refugees after the second half of the 17th century, as it can be attested from the archival material.
