Στο άρθρο συνοψίζονται τα συμπεράσματα που προέκυψαν με την μελέτη της Περιβλέπτου του Μυστρά. Επανεξετάζονται αναλυτικά τα στοιχεία του διακόσμου της μονής της, καθώς και τα εραλδικά της στοιχεία τοποθετημένα με επιμέλεια σε διάφορα σημεία του εσωτερικού της. Η επίμονη και συστηματική απολάξευσή τους πρέπει να συνδεθεί με την αντίδραση κατά της φιλοδυτικής πολιτικής που ασκήθηκε από το δεσποτικό ζεύγος του Μανουήλ και της Ισαβέλλας. Συνεπώς πιθανότατα υποδεικνύουν ότι η μονή ήταν ηγεμονικό καθίδρυμα που μάλλον προοριζόταν για την σύζυγό του Μανουήλ, Ισαβέλλα, την αυλή και τους συγγενείς της.

The Donors of Perivleptos at MystraThe article summarizes the conclusions that were drawn from the thesis of the researcher who studied the monastery of Perivleptos. Furthermore, some new evidence from the painted decoration of the church along with the heraldic insignia of it placed in several spots of the interior is being re-examined. On the other hand, the systematic scrapping off of the latter should probably be considered as a reaction towards the pro-Western politics that was induced by the ruling couple of Manuel and Isabelle. Hence, it could be presumed that the monastery was a despotic foundation which was probably destined for his spouse, Isabelle, her court and relatives.
