Στη μελέτη παρουσιάζονται ελληνικές επιγραφές από τον κύκλο των Παθών και από τον κύκλο του αγίου Γεωργίου, καθώς και μικτές επιγραφές (παλαιοσερβικά-ελληνικά) από τον νάρθηκα του ναού του αγίου Γεωργίου στο Staro Nagoričino, ο διάκοσμος του οποίου είναι έργο των γνωστών ζωγράφων Μιχαήλ Αστραπά και Ευτυχίου. Εξετάζονται δύο βασικά ζητήματα: πρώτον, η ανορθογραφία των επιγραφών και το συναφές με αυτή θέμα των γραμματικών γνώσεων των ζωγράφων και, δεύτερον η γλώσσα των επιγραφών στον νάρθηκα.

Greek inscriptions from the Passion cycle and the St George cycle are studied, as well as mixed inscriptions in Old Serbian and Greek from the narthex of the church of St George at Staro Nagoričino, which is the work of the well-known painters Michael Astrapas and Eutychios. Two basic issues are examined: first the misspellings in the inscriptions and the relevant subject of the painters’ literacy, and second the language of the inscriptions in the narthex.
