Redefine Hellenic Post Bank’s Performance Appraisal

Performance management is critical to meeting overall business performance targets and objectives. A major activity of the performance cycle is the individual performance assessment and development plan that is being examined in my individual work for the Hellenic Post Bank (HPB). Highlighted mainstream target for this work is to incorporate literature and case study findings in the field of performance management, balanced scorecards, and financial metrics in the banking sector and adapt those findings in developing an assessment framework to improve HPB overall performance. This work studies HPB’s appraisal framework adaptation in terms of practically employing the Balanced Scorecard and Management by Objective (MBO) concepts, as to redesign our existing appraisal form at retail level. For accomplishing the project targets, apart from a thorough investigation into best practises and research, various interviews have been performed with HPB’s senior management to examine current practises, define important financial metrics, strategic objectives and targets, to be incorporated in the final deliverable of our appraisal framework.
