It is shown that the general order thermoluminescence peak may result from traps with the same activation energy and a distribution of values of the frequency factor. The density function of this is found to be a Γ-distribution. The physical significance of the order of kinetics and time parameter appearing in the differential equation governing general order kinetics is shown to stem from the properties of the distribution of frequency factors.
