Low-frequency acoustic scattering by a hard inverse-prolate spheroid (EN)

In this paper the Rayleigh scattering of a plane wave by an acoustically hard inverse-prolate spheroid is examined. The solution is obtained via an appropriate use of the Kelvin inversion method and involves the solution of an interior boundary-value problem, for a prolate spheroid with Robin conditions on its surface. Numerical aspects of the proposed technique are also presented. © 1992 Oxford University Press. (EN)
