BARON, GEORGES-LOUIS; Université Paris Descartes, France

France is among the first countries that has launched public policies for introducing and disseminating ICT usage in education. This text, which relies on two previous publications aims at putting in their historical context the current orientations and explaining the genesis that led to them. First, it presents an analysis of the situation in the French school system, focusing on primary education and on the issue of ICT tools. Then, it analyses the process for producing and disseminating ICT resources within and outside of schools and presents some considerations on the efficacy of using ICT. Finally, it discusses some of the problems and trends regarding teacher education (EN)
