The succession narrative in the deuteronomistic history

The purpose of this study is to reappraise L. Rost's theory concerning the succession narrative, and to investigate the theological relationship between the succession narrative and the Deuteronomistic History, in order to emphasize the redactional activity of the Deuterionomist in the tradition of David in II Samuel 9-I Kings 1-2. The Deuteronomistic intention retelling the succession narrative which produced in Solomon's period who not to explain David's sins of the adultery and murder, the birth of Solomon as the future successor, Absalom's revolt, and the accession of Soloma etc. It was further not to highlight or criticize the negative aspects of David and Solomon. In the accounts of the sin, punishment, and restoration of David and his family described in II Sam. 9-20 and I Kings 1-2, the Deuteronomist found a theological metaphor for his audience living in the same situation of the Babylonian exile. Indeed, the succession narrative coincided so well with the Deuteronomistic ideology in the pattern of sin-punishment-deliverance, which pervades every element of the entire work of the Deuronomistic History from beginning to end.
Η παρούσα εργασία διαιρείται σε τρία μέρη. Σκοπός της μελέτης είναι να επανεκτιμήσει τη θεωρία του L. Rost όσον αφορά την Δ.Δ. και να ερευνήσει τη θεολογική σχέση μεταξύ της Δ.Δ. και της Δευτ. Ιστορίας, με σκοπό να φωτίσει τη συντακτική δραστηριότητα του Δευτερονομιστή στην παράδοση για τον Δαυίδ στο Β' Βασιλ. 9- Γ' Βασ. 2.
