Writing a History of Theater (as it is with writing a History of Literature) is nowadays almost impossible because of all the information that exists along with specialized knowledge. Therefore, any scholar who wishes to occupy himself with such a task, he ought to transgress the traditional method that dictates the detailed and ordered recording of events and examine the phenomenon in a more complex way. This new methodology is mainly based on comparativism and views the performance process as a primary factor whose role surpasses the text's traditional literary reading. The aforesaid type of model was adopted in our study entitled Twentieth Century Greek Theater, Cultural Originals and Originality, which is the basic of the present article.
