The efficiency of recombinant streptococcal protein G (rec-spG) affinity column chromatography in purifying immunoglobulins G (IgG) from lipids has been studied, with particular reference to IgG fractions from bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid and serum samples from different sources. It was found that the IgG fractions purified by rec-spG affinity column chromatography also contained cholesterol and phospholipids. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. (EN)
