Iodonium ylide 2, derived from dimethyl malonate, undergoes facile thermal cycloaddition with alkenes and dienes catalyzed with Rh-2(OAc)(4) to form the corresponding cyclopropanedicarboxylates and vinylcyclopropanedicarboxylates, respectively, in excellent yields. (EN)
