Η κυκλική και βιώσιμη βιοοικονομία προσφέρει λύσεις που στηρίζουν την ανάπτυξη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και προστατεύουν το περιβάλλον. Οι στόχοι της ΕΕ μπορούν να επιτευχθούν μέσω των εθνικών στρατηγικών που εφαρμόζουν τα κράτη-μέλη. Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία εξετάζει τις ευκαιρίες ανάπτυξης της βιοοικονομίας, αναλύοντας τις θετικές εμπειρίες αλλά και τις δυσκολίες που έχουν καταγραφεί.
Γίνεται σύγκριση μεταξύ των χωρών για να κατανοηθούν οι συνθήκες που επηρεάζουν την πρόοδο των στρατηγικών τους στην επίτευξη της βιοοικονομίας. Παράλληλα, διερευνώνται οι επιπτώσεις της βιοοικονομίας στην απασχόληση, την οικονομία και το περιβάλλον. Το έγγραφο τονίζει την ανάγκη συνεργασίας μεταξύ των εμπλεκόμενων φορέων.
Υπογραμμίζεται η σημασία της δημιουργικότητας και της καινοτομίας στην εφαρμογή της κυκλικής βιοοικονομίας, αλλά και η υποστήριξη που πρέπει να παρέχουν τα θεσμικά όργανα. Η μελέτη δίνει χρήσιμες πληροφορίες για τις δράσεις που απαιτούνται, ώστε να δημιουργηθούν οι κατάλληλες πολιτικές και στρατηγικές. Αυτές οι πολιτικές θα βοηθήσουν στην οικοδόμηση μιας βιώσιμης και ανθεκτικής οικονομίας για την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση.

The circular and sustainable bioeconomy puts forward sustainable solutions for EU growth and strengthened environment protection. The goals of the union can therefore be met through the member state national strategies. In this thesis, the emphasis is made on examining the bioeconomy’s development opportunities in relation to the positive experiences as well as difficulties in the member states. It reviews how various countries compare to each other in terms of bioeconomy potentials, the conditions that affect the deployment of the bioeconomy strategies, and the effect on employment, economy, and the environment. The present thesis seeks to draw attention to the need for multi-stakeholder cooperation, creativity in delivery of the circular Bioeconomy, as well as support from institutions. The thesis offers useful information on courses of action that should be taken to create policies and strategies necessary to result in an overall sustainable and more resilient economy for the EU.
