    "description" : "Το 1873, ο ∆ρ Christopher Dresser έγραψε,  \"µια καρέκλα είναι ένα σκαµνί µε ένα οπίσθιο στήριγµα, και ένα σκαµνί είναι ένας πίνακας που ανυψώνεται από το έδαφος  από τις υποστηρίξεις.\" \nΑυτός ο καθορισµός της καρέκλας φαίνεται παράλογα απλοϊκός σήµερα, γιατί κατά τη διάρκεια των τελευταίων εκατό ετών η \nκαρέκλα υπόκειται  σε µια διαδοχή των επαναστατικών µετασχηµατισµών, µεµονωµένα αναδυόµενος ως εύγλωττο σύµβολο της ιδιαίτερα σύνθετης κοινωνίας µας. Η  υποµένοντας επιτυχία ενός ιδιαίτερου σηµαδιού καρεκλών δεν µπορεί να αξιολογηθεί από πόσο επιδέξια ο δηµιουργός του έχει συνθέσει την αισθητική και  τη λειτουργία καλύπτοντας µια συγκεκριµένη ανάγκη.  Η σχετικότητα ενός µεµονωµένου σχεδίου µπορεί  επίσης να µετρηθεί από πόσο καλά εκφράζει το πνεύµα της ηλικίας. Οι έδρες στηρίζουν µια πολύ µεγαλύτερη φυσική  και ψυχολογική σχέση µε τους χρήστες τους από πίνακες ή κοµµάτια περίπτωσης. Για αυτόν τον λόγο, το σχέδιο των καρεκλών πρέπει  να θεωρηθεί όπως τίθεται εκτός από αυτό άλλων επίπλων. ∆εδοµένου ότι η αρχή \nτων ανθρώπων  πολιτισµού έχει απαιτήσει κάτι για να καθίσει επάνω  - και καθώς οι κοινωνίες εξελίσσονται, κάνει έτσι την καρέκλα. Σαν συµβολικό αντικείµενο, εποµένως, η  καρέκλα έχει λίγους ίσους - υπό µορφή  θρόνου ή ηλεκτρικής καρέκλας, εκφράζει potently τη δύναµη και την αρχή. Η καρέκλα είναι  ένα αντικείµενο που µουσκεύεται στις υποδηλώσεις παρέχει τη θέση στο χρήστη του, µπορεί να κατέχει τους ποικίλους βαθµούς διανοητικού περιεχοµένου.  \nΠερισσότερο από οποιοδήποτε άλλο τύπο επίπλων,  η καρέκλα µπορεί να θεωρηθεί ως βαρόµετρο της κοινωνικής αλλαγής.\nΕνώ η αρχική λειτουργία της ως αντικείµενο για να καθίσει στη σταθερά υπολειµµάτων,  οι συγκεκριµένοι σκοποί για τους οποίους ερικές  καρέκλες σχεδιάζονται είναι µεταβλητή. Η καρέκλα αιθουσών, παραδείγµατος χάριν, είναι σχεδόν ξεπερασµένη σήµερα, ενώ η καρέκλα του χειριστή πηγαίνει κάτω συνεχείς έρευνα και ανάπτυξη. Η καρέκλα αντανακλά ακριβέστερα τα οικονοµικά πλαίσια µέσα στα οποία  το σχέδιο έχει εξελιχθεί στον εικοστό αιώνα, επειδή εκφράζει καλύτερα την αισθητική των συγκεκριµένων διακοσµητικών µορφών. Είναι  επίσης ιδιαίτερα ευαίσθητο στις επιρροές του sent evanes της προτίµησης και του δηµοφιλούς sumerismcon. Σε περιόδους της οικονοµικής αυστηρότητας λογικά σχεδιασµένες οι καρέκλες και άλλα ανθεκτικά προϊόντα από την\nανάγκη θα επικρατήσουν στην αγορά, ενώ στις περιόδους σχετικής ευηµερίας υπάρχει  µια  γενική τάση  προς το antirationalism της διακόσµησης και των υπερβαλλουσών µορφών.",
