    "description" : "Στόχος της μελέτης αυτής ήταν η αξιολόγηση της ανθεκτικότητας στην ξηρασία τεσσάρων ελληνικών ποικιλιών σκληρού σιταριού (Triticum durum Desf.) (Άννα, Θράκη, Μεξικάλι και Σίφνος) με την χρήση πολυαιθυλενικής γλυκόλης διαφορετικών συγκεντρώσεων (0%, 5%, 10% και 15% PEG). Η ξηρασία αποτελεί τον σημαντικότερο αβιοτικό παράγοντα καταπόνησης των καλλιεργούμενων φυτών. Το πείραμα πραγματοποιήθηκε in vivo σε φυτά που αναπτύχθηκαν εντός φυτοδοχείων, υπό ελεγχόμενες συνθήκες θερμοκηπίου. \nΕφαρμόστηκε πειραματικό σχέδιο τεμάχια με υποτεμάχια (split-plot) σε πλήρεις τυχαιοποιημένες ομάδες (RCB). Για κάθε επέμβαση χρησιμοποιήθηκαν 10 επαναλήψεις, με συνολικά 160 πειραματικά τεμάχια. Η καταπόνηση εφαρμόστηκε σε ώριμα φυτά πριν και μετά την άνθηση. Σε συνθήκες εργαστηρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε αξιολόγηση βιοχημικών παραμέτρων και συγκεκριμένα καταγράφηκε η συγκέντρωση προλίνης στα φυτά, ως αντίδραση στις συνθήκες ξηρασίας.\nΗ κάθε ποικιλία αντέδρασε διαφορετικά στην επίδραση της πολυαιθυλενικής γλυκόλης, εμφανίζοντας στατιστικώς σημαντικά διαφορετικές συγκεντρώσεις της προλίνης. Η προκληθείσα καταπόνηση οδήγησε σε προοδευτική αύξηση της συγκέντρωσης της προλίνης στα φυτά που εφαρμόστηκε η μεταχείριση με πολυαιθυλενική γλυκόλη, καταγράφοντας τις υψηλότερες τιμές στις επεμβάσεις με 15% PEG (0,297 mmol/gr dw). Η αύξηση της συγκέντρωσης προλίνης ήταν αναλογική της αύξησης της χρησιμοποιούμενης συγκέντρωσης PEG. Η πιο ανθεκτική ποικιλία αποδείχθηκε η Σίφνος, εμφανίζοντας τη μεγαλύτερη τιμή συγκέντρωσης προλίνης (0,308 mmol/gr dw).",
