    "description" : "Η τεχνολογία των κατασκευασμένων υγροτόπων (ή υγροβιότοπων) αποτελεί μια δημοφιλή εναλλακτική λύση, τόσο στην Ευρώπη, όσο και στην Αμερική, για την επεξεργασία των υγρών αστικών αποβλήτων, σε μικρούς κυρίως οικισμούς, αλλά και για την επεξεργασία των Υπερχειλίσεων Μικρής Απορροής, ΥΜΑ και των βρόχινων απορροών, ενώ μπορεί επίσης να χρησιμοποιηθεί επικουρικά σε μονάδες βιολογικού καθαρισμού, για την επεξεργασία της υπερβάλλουσας παροχής σε περίπτωση έντονων βροχοπτώσεων, όπως και για την επεξεργασία αγροτικών και όξινων απορροών. Η επεξεργασία των υγρών αποβλήτων στους τεχνητούς υγροτόπους στηρίζεται στη φυσική απομάκρυνση των ρύπων, κυρίως εξαιτίας της προσρόφησης στο υπόστρωμά τους, στην αξιοποίηση και μετατροπή των ρύπων από τους ενδημούντες μικροοργανισμούς, καθώς και στην πρόσληψη των θρεπτικών συστατικών από τα φυτά.\nΕξαιτίας της σχετικής πολυπλοκότητας των συστημάτων αυτών και ιδιαιτέρως των κατασκευασμένων υγροτόπων κατακόρυφης ροής, που αφορά στη λειτουργία τους με κύκλους φόρτισης και ανάκαμψης, δεν έχουν ακόμα διευκρινιστεί ικανοποιητικώς οι μηχανισμοί απομάκρυνσης των συνηθισμένων  ρύπων των αποβλήτων στο εσωτερικό των υγροτόπων, καθώς και η επίδραση των κυριότερων λειτουργικών παραμέτρων, αλλά και των ειδικότερων κλιματολογικών συνθηκών στα συστήματα αυτά. Προκύπτει συνεπώς εύλογα η ανάγκη για συστηματικότερη έρευνα, που θα βοηθήσει στην καλύτερη κατανόηση των παραγόντων, οι οποίοι επηρεάζουν τη λειτουργία των τεχνητών υγροτόπων κατακόρυφης ροής. Η εργασία αυτή αναμένεται ότι θα συμβάλλει στην απόκτηση εμπειρίας με στόχο τον καλύτερο σχεδιασμό, κατασκευή και λειτουργία των συστημάτων αυτών.\nΣτην κατεύθυνση αυτή ορίστηκε και το θέμα της παρούσας διπλωματικής σκοπό της οποίας ήτα η μελέτη των σταδίων και η αξιολόγηση των μονάδων επεξεργασίας υγρών αποβλήτων. Η μελέτη επικεντρώνεται στις εναλλακτικές μεθόδους επεξεργασίας υγρών αποβλήτων που λαμβάνουν χώρα κυρίως στον ελλαδικό χώρο.",
