Το υψηλό κόστος των παραγόμενων αμπελουργικών προϊόντων και η χαμηλή ανταγωνιστικότητά τους στο διεθνές εμπόριο οδήγησαν τα τελευταία χρόνια στη μείωση των καλλιεργουμένων εκτάσεων κατά 15-20%.\nΗ ορθολογική αντιμετώπιση των διαφόρων εχθρών της αμπέλου αποτελεί πρόβλημα περίπλοκο και προϋποθέτει την ικανότητα έγκαιρης αναγνώρισης της πάθησης και η σωστή εφαρμογή των ενδεικνυόμενων μέτρων.\nΗ εργασία αυτή περιλαμβάνει δύο μέρη. Το πρώτο μέρος αναφέρει γενικά  την καλλιέργεια της αμπέλου, ενώ το δεύτερο μέρος περιγράφει (ταξινόμηση, μορφολογία, φυτά – ξενιστές, βιολογία , ζημιές και καταπολέμηση) των κυριότερων ειδών εντόμων της τάξης Ηemiptera ,  τα οποία είναι σημαντικοί εχθροί της αμπέλου.\nΣκοπός της εργασίας είναι να συμβάλλει όσο είναι δυνατόν στην επίλυση των σοβαρών προβλημάτων που δημιουργούνται από τους εχθρούς της τάξης Ηemiptera στην καλλιέργεια (άμπελος), εφαρμόζοντας νέους τρόπους και μεθόδους αντιμετώπισης των εντόμων, οι οποίοι να προασπίζουν τον άνθρωπο, την καλλιέργεια, τα ωφέλιμα έντομα και το περιβάλλον, από τα επιβλαβή αυτά έντομα.",
