Είναι μια μορφή τουρισμού που αναπτύσσεται σε αγροτικές περιοχές που δεν έχουν κορεστεί τουριστικά και συνδέεται με τις κοινωνικές, πολιτισμικές και κοινοτικές αξίες του κάθε τόπου. Έτσι δίνεται η ευκαιρία σε κάθε τουρίστα που επισκέπτεται εκείνο τον τόπο να γνωρίζει τα ήθη και τα έθιμά του και να μοιράζεται εμπειρίες.",
