Τα έντομα αυτά ανήκουν στις τάξεις: Κολεόπτερα, Δίπτερα, \nΛεπιδόπτερα,  Ημίπτερα,  Υμενόπτερα  και  Θυσανόπτερα.  Τα  είδη  των \nτάξεων  αυτών  διακρίνονται  ανάλογα  του  φυτικού  μέρους  που \nπροσβάλλουν και του σταδίου προσβολής σε ζωικούς εχθρούς εδάφους \nφυλλώματος κτλ. Ανήκουν σε διάφορες οικογένειες και αναφέρονται τα μορφολογικά χαρακτηριστικά, τη βιολογία, οι ζημιές και η αντιμετώπιση \nτων εντόμων αυτών.\nΣκοπός της εργασίας είναι να συμβάλλει κατά το δυνατόν στην επίλυση  των σοβαρών  προβλημάτων  που  δημιουργούνται\nαπό  τα  είδη  εντόμων \nστην  καλλιέργεια  της  πατάτας  εφαρμόζοντας  νέους  τρόπους  και \nμεθόδους  αντιμετώπισης  των  εντόμων,  οι  οποίοι  να  υπερασπίζουν  τον \nάνθρωπο, την καλλιέργεια, το περιβάλλον κ.α.",
