    "description" : "Τα εσπεριδοειδή αποτελούν μια ομάδα αειθαλών οπωροφόρων δέντρων, που παράγουν \"ξινούς καρπούς\", όπως η κιτριά, η λεμονιά, η πορτοκαλιά, η μανταρινιά, το γκρεϊπ φρούτ, η φράππα, η λιμεττία κ.α.. Από αυτά μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον για την εθνική μας οικονομία παρουσιάζουν η πορτοκαλιά, η λεμονιά και η μανταρινιά.\nΤα περισσότερα από τα καλλιεργούμενα είδη εσπεριδοειδών ανήκουν στο γένος Citrus. Μερικά όμως από αυτά όπως το κουμ-κουάτ και η τρίφυλλη πορτοκαλιά, ανήκουν σε άλλα διαφορετικά, αλλά συγγενή γένη.\nΜε τον όρο \"Εσπεριδοειδή\" εννοούμε τόσο τα δέντρα όσο και τους καρπούς των ειδών αυτών. Η σημασία των εσπεριδοειδών στη γεωργία και στην παγκόσμια οικονομία συνάγεται από την ευρεία εξάπλωση αυτών και τη μεγάλη παραγωγή. \nΤα εσπεριδοειδή καλλιεργούνται σε χώρες, που έχουν τροπικό έως υποτροπικό κλίμα, κατάλληλο έδαφος, επαρκή υγρασία και είναι απαλλαγμένες από παγετούς. Οι κυριότερες περιοχές που καλλιεργούν και παράγουν σήμερα εσπεριδοειδή καταλαμβάνουν μια ζώνη που εκτίνετε 20 μοίρες Βόρεια ή Νότια του Ισημερινού. Εξετάζοντας όμως καλύτερα τη ζώνη αυτή παρατηρούμε ότι είναι δυνατό να ευδοκιμήσουν και πέραν αυτής. Περιοχές στις οποίες αναπτύσσονται και ευδοκιμούν όλα σχεδόν τα είδη των εσπεριδοειδών, αφού ο μόνος περιοριστικός παράγοντας είναι οι χαμηλές θερμοκρασίες.\nΈτσι, όπως αναφέραμε και παραπάνω τα εσπεριδοειδή καλλιεργούνται σε πολλές περιοχές, με διάφορες κλιματικές συνθήκες, από τροπικές μέχρι υποτροπικές. Η ανάπτυξη των δέντρων, οι βλαστικοί τους κύκλοι, η παραγωγή και ειδικότερα  η ποιότητα του παραγόμενου  προϊόντος ποικίλουν πάρα πολύ από περιοχή σε περιοχή και από κλίμα σε κλίμα.",
