    "description" : "Στην περιφέρεια Θεσσαλίας από τις αρχές της δεκαετίας του ’90 εφαρμόζονται με μεγάλη επιτυχία τα Ευρωπαϊκά προγράμματα LEADER και πιο συγκεκριμένα τα προγράμματα LEADER I, II, plus ( + ). Ιδιαίτερα στον νομό Λάρισας και στον νομό Τρικάλων έχουν εφαρμοστεί και τα τρία LEADER, στον νομό Καρδίτσας και στον νομό Μαγνησίας έχουν εφαρμοστεί το LEADER II και LEADER plus ( + ).\nΈχουν ως βασικό σκοπό τη βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής των κατοίκων της υπαίθρου μέσα από μια συνεχή ανάπτυξη. Αυτό επιτυγχάνεται μέσα από δραστηριότητες των κατοίκων της περιοχής, που αξιοποιούν τους φυσικούς, ανθρώπινους και οικονομικούς πόρους του τόπου τους, αναδεικνύοντας έτσι τις ομορφιές του, ανακαλύπτοντας νέες πηγές εισοδήματος και παράλληλα προστατεύουν τη φυσική και πολιτιστική κληρονομιά.\nΣτην Ελλάδα εφαρμόζονται σε ορεινές περιοχές καθώς επίσης και σε νησιώτικες στις οποίες παρουσιάζεται η εντονότερη κοινωνικοοικονομική υστέρηση. Τα προγράμματα LEADER εφαρμόζονται και υλοποιούνται από τις Ομάδες Τοπικής Δράσης (ΟΤΔ ).",
