Με μια ιστορική αναδρομή αναφέρονται οι λόγοι που ανάγκασαν τον άνθρωπο στη δημιουργία συστημάτων γείωσης και υπολογίζεται η αντίσταση διαφόρων συστημάτων γείωσης. Αναφέρονται διάφορες μορφές γείωσης και οι αρχές σχεδίασης συστημάτων γείωσης για υποσταθμούς. Επίσης γίνεται λόγος για την ασφάλεια γείωσης και για τα επίπεδα των ρευμάτων και των τάσεων που είναι ασφαλή για τον άνθρωπο. Επιπλέον παρουσιάζονται μέθοδοι για τη μέτρηση τόσο της αντίστασης όσο και της ειδικής αντίστασης του εδάφους. \nΣτα κεφάλαια 9,10 και 11 παρουσιάζονται οι βασικές προσεγγίσεις σχετικά με τη κρουστική σύνθετη αντίσταση, λαμβάνοντας υπ' όψιν όλες τις παραμέτρους που αναμιγνύονται. Υπολογίζεται η χωρητικότητα των πλεγμάτων γείωσης και μελετάται η σχέση ανάμεσα στη μόνιμη αντίσταση γείωσης(R) ενός πλέγματος και τη χωρητικότητά του (C). Επίσης γίνεται λόγος για την επίδραση του συντελεστή αυτεπαγωγής (L) στη κρουστική σύνθετη αντίσταση και στον υπολογισμό της, καθώς και για την επίδραση της κρουστικής σύνθετης αντίστασης.",
