Περιέχει τις βασικές αρχές που διέπουν τη συμπαραγωγή και παρέχει τη βάση για την κατανόηση των επιλογών που σχετίζονται με αυτή.\nΑναλυτικότερα, το πρώτο κεφάλαιο αναφέρει την επιτακτική ανάγκη εύρεσης νέων ανανεώσιμων πηγών ενέργειας , πέραν των καθορισμένων , έτσι ώστε να έχουμε μείωση των εκπεμπόμενων ρύπων. Έπειτα γίνεται εκτενής αναφορά στην συμπαραγωγή και πως μπορεί να βοηθήσει στο ενεργειακό σύστημα της χώρας. Τέλος παραθέτουμε και μια μικρή αναφορά στην τριπαραγωγή .",
