    "description" : "Φράγμα είναι τεχνικό έργο που κατασκευάζεται κάθετα στην κοίτη ενός φυσικού υδατορεύματος για να ανακόψει τη συνέχεια της ροής με σκοπό την αποθήκευση του νερού για μελλοντική χρησιμοποίησή του.\nΣκοπός της κατασκευής ενός φράγματος μπορεί να είναι:Η παραγωγή ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας, Η άρδευση καλλιεργούμενων εδαφών, Η ύδρευση πόλεων, οικισμών ή βιομηχανικών μονάδων, Η διαμόρφωση πλωτών διωρύγων, Η ρύθμιση της ροής φυσικών ρευμάτων (ποταμών).\nΤα φράγματα είναι έργα δαπανηρά, παρουσιάζουν όμως μακροπρόθεσμα μεγάλα οικονομικά οφέλη και για το λόγο αυτό επιδιώκεται η κατασκευή τους.\nΗ κατασκευή ενός φράγματος, ανάλογα με το σκοπό που πρόκειται να εξυπηρετήσει, μελετάται και βρίσκεται τόσο ο καλύτερος τύπος φράγματος όσο και οι απαιτούμενες διαστάσεις του. Τα φράγματα είναι έργα ιδιόμορφα, γιατί δεν είναι δυνατό να τυποποιηθούν και να εφαρμόζονται επανειλημμένα. Κάθε φράγμα έχει τη δική του λειτουργία, τους δικούς του φυσικούς παράγοντες και το δικό του φυσικό περιβάλλον, που παίζει σπουδαίο ρόλο για τη θεμελίωση του.",
