Μιας και η διαδικασία προγραμματισμού και λειτουργίας είναι κοινές σε όλες.\n\nΕπίσης με την κατασκευή ενός συστήματος ρούτερ χαμηλού κόστους με χρήση των σχεδίων και των οδηγιών του βιβλίου « Build Υουτ Own CNC Machine» των συγγραφέων «Patrick Hood-Daniel και James Floyd Kelly» παρουσιάζει στον αναγνώστη ότι είναι εφικτή η δυνατότητα κατασκευής και χρήσης ενός τέτοιου συστήματος από τον οικιακό χρήστη για την κατασκευή διάφορων προϊόντων και εξαρτημάτων για χόμπι ή επαγγελματικό σκοπό.\n\nΤο πρώτο κεφάλαιο κάνει μια εισαγωγή στην ιστορία και την εξέλιξη των μηχανών και εργαλειομηχανών που αναπτύχθηκαν στην ανθρώπινη ιστορία.\n\nΤο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζει γενικές αρχές τεχνικού σχεδιασμού οι οποίες είναι απαραίτητες όμως σε όποιον θέλει να ασχοληθεί με τις εργαλειομηχανές και τα προϊόντα που αυτές παράγουν.\n\nΣτο τρίτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζονται πληροφορίες ζωτικής σημασίας και συχνής χρήσης για κοπτικά εργαλεία, συνθήκες κοπής. Επίσης αναφέρονται συνοπτικά διάφοροι τύποι μηχανών και οι χρήσεις τους.\n\nΤο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζει, όλα τα χαρακτηριστικά, τις ιδιότητες και τη φύση του αριθμητικού ελέγχου μέσω υπολογιστή.\n\nΤο πέμπτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζει τα βήματα κατασκευής μιας φρέζας τύπου ρούτερ, έτσι ώστε να γίνει αντιληπτή η πρόοδος της τεχνολογίας σε τέτοιο επίπεδο, όπου η πτώση του κόστους, η ύπαρξη συστημάτων και μέσων έχει κάνει την τεχνολογία αριθμητικού ελέγχου, διαθέσιμη στον κάθε ενδιαφερόμενο.\n\nΤο έκτο κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζει εφαρμογές προγραμματισμού και χρήσης του ρούτερ που κατασκευάστηκε.",
