Γίνεται μια αναφορά στην ιστορία των προτύπων, παρουσιάζεται ο Διεθνής Οργανισμός Τυποποίησης (ISO) και αναλύεται ο ρόλος του στο παγκόσμιο γίγνεσθαι, ακολουθούν βασικοί ορισμοί\tτης\n\nπιστοποίησης προκειμένου να μπορέσει ο αναγνώστης να κατανοήσει τη «φιλοσοφία» της πιστοποίησης, ενώ παρουσιάζονται αναλυτικά τα πρότυπα πιστοποίησης καθώς και τα πλεονεκτήματα από την εγκατάσταση τους σε μια επιχείρηση, όπως και τα στάδια και ο χρόνος που απαιτείται για την τελική εγκατάσταση και λειτουργία τους.\n\nΣτο κεφάλαιο 2 παρουσιάζονται οι φορείς πιστοποίησης που εδρεύουν στην Ελλάδα και την Ε.Ε. συμπεριλαμβανομένων και σχετικών πινάκων με στοιχεία όπως οι τομείς δράσης τους αλλά και χρήσιμες διευθύνσεις και τηλέφωνα που μπορούν οι ενδιαφερόμενοι να επικοινωνήσουν με τον φορέα που επιθυμούν. Στο κεφάλαιο 3 γίνεται αναφορά στην κατάσταση που επικρατεί στην Ελλάδα όσον αφορά τις επιχειρήσεις που έχουν πιστοποιηθεί με τα πρότυπα ISO 9000, ISO 14000 και OHSAS 18001, αλλά και σε πόσες επιχειρήσεις ανακλήθηκαν τα πιστοποιητικά τους εξαιτίας της μη συμμόρφωσής τους με τις απαιτήσεις που\nθέτουν τα πρότυπα. Το κεφάλαιο αυτό καταλήγει με την ανάπτυξη του επιχειρηματικού προγράμματος «Πιστοποιηθείτε» που είναι μια προσπάθεια του Υπουργείου Ανάπτυξης προκειμένου να στηρίξει τις επιχειρήσεις στην προσπάθειά τους να εγκαταστήσουν ένα πρότυπο πιστοποίησης.",
