The Bancassurance sector is relatively new but with great prospects. Already in many countries where it exists, is the first distribution channel for life insurance and shows upward trends in all other categories.
The co-operation of insurance companies with banks to provide insurance products creates new fields of development for both sectors that will also benefit the consumer through lower costs and premiums. The present dissertation presents the situation in Europe and Greece in particular, with emphasis on Piraeus Bank and its affiliates, in order to promote the participation of Bancassurance in the profitability of the Pireaus group and explore the potential of this institution.
Ο τομέας του Bancassurance είναι σχετικά νέος αλλά με μεγάλες προοπτικές. Ήδη σε πολλές χώρες όπου υπάρχει είναι πρώτο κανάλι διανομής ασφαλίσεων ζωής και εμφανίζει αυξητικές τάσεις σε όλες τις κατηγορίες.
Η συνεργασία ασφαλιστικών εταιριών με τις τράπεζες για την παροχή ασφαλιστικών προϊόντων, δημιουργεί νέα πεδία εξέλιξης και των δύο κλάδων που θα προσφέρουν και όφελος στον καταναλωτή, μέσω της μείωσης του κόστους και των ασφαλίστρων. Στην παρούσα εργασία παρουσιάζεται η κατάσταση στην Ευρώπη και την Ελλάδα ειδικότερα, με έμφαση στην Τράπεζα Πειραιώς και τις συνεργαζόμενες ασφαλιστικές, με σκοπό να αναδειχθεί η συμμετοχή του bancassurance στην κερδοφορία του ομίλου και να εξερευνηθούν οι δυνατότητες του συγκεκριμένου θεσμού
