Twenty three Greek grapevine cultivars were studied and classified regarding their ampelographic characters, in accordance with the “Code of Descriptive Characters of Vitis Varieties and Species” of the O.I.V. The cultivars were planted in the vineyard of Agricultural University of Athens, grafted on 110R rootstock, except for Skiadopoulo which was grafted on 1103P. Each cultivar consisted of ten vines which were trained with the double Cordon Royat. The vineyard was located at a longitude of 23o32'14'', latitude of 37o58 '55'' and an altitude of 30 meters above sea level. The study was carried out during the growing season of 2004.
