      "@value" : "Η διατροφογονιδιωματική αποτελεί κλάδο της γονιδιωματικής, η οποία εστιάζει στις αλληλεπιδράσεις της διατροφής και των γονιδίων. Αυτός ο τομέας της επιστήμης εμφανίζει ραγδαία ανάπτυξη τα τελευταία χρόνια, καθώς οι εφαρμογές του είναι αποδεκτές και άμεσα προσιτές στο κοινό. Εν μέρει, το γεγονός αυτό οφείλεται στη διαφήμιση και απευθείας πώληση των γενετικών εμπορικών δοκιμασιών στους καταναλωτές (DTC- Direct To Consumer) μέσω διαδικτύου, τα οποία περιλαμβάνουν προϊόντα και υπηρεσίες συναφείς με τη διατροφογονιδιωματική. Οι καταναλωτές, σήμερα, έχουν μεγαλύτερη πρόσβαση στις γενετικές πληροφορίες που τους αφορούν, εντούτοις, η πρόσβαση αυτή δεν εγγυάται την ορθή ερμηνεία και χρηστικότητα της πληροφορίας.Το άρθρο αυτό εστιάζει στις ηθικές και ρυθμιστικές πτυχές των άμεσα διαθέσιμων στους καταναλωτές γενετικών εμπορικών δοκιμασιών, με ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στις διατροφογονιδιωματικές δοκιμασίες, αλλά και στον τρόπο με τον οποίο αυτές προωθούνται στο ευρύ κοινό."

Notably, nutrigenomics information and applications seem to be directly accessible to the public, partly due to advertising and direct-to-consumer online sales of nutrigenomics-related products and services. Nowadays, consumers have direct access to their genetic information. Access, however, does not guarantee interpretation and utility.This article, discusses the ethical and regulatory aspects of direct-to-consumer genetic services, focusing on nutrigenomic tests and the means they are promoted to the general public."
