Στην περιοχή Στρατηγάτο, σε απόσταση ενός χιλιομέτρου από το χωριό Δαφνώνας, βρίσκεται η εκκλησία της Υπαπαντής. Ο ναός κτίστηκε μετά τον σεισμό του 1881 στα ερείπια παλαιότερου. Σύμφωνα με τις ενδείξεις του δαπέδου του, αντιγράφει εκείνο της Νέας Μονής. Ενδεχομένως μάλιστα και ο ναός της Υπαπαντής ήταν ένα αντίγραφο του «νησιωτικού» οκταγωνικού τύπου, κτισμένος πιθανότατα μεταξύ των μέσων του 11ου αιώνα και πριν το 1346, έτος που καταλαμβάνουν οι Γενουάτες το νησί. At Stratigato, Chios, a kilometre outside the village of Daphnonas, there is the church of Hypapante. The church was built after the great earthquake of 1881 over the ruins of a previous one. According to the evidence provided by the marble-paved floor of it, it can be assumed that the latter is a copy of that of Nea Moni. Further advancing the above discovery it can be presumed that the church of Hypapante was also of the “insular” octagonal type and could have been built after the middle of the 11th century and before 1346 when the island was conquered by the Genoese.
