Στo άρθρο εξετάζεται η ιδιαίτερη διάδοση του θέματος του ευαγγελιστή Λουκά, ως ζωγράφου της εικόνας της Παναγίας, στην ηπειρωτική Ελλάδα. Παρουσιάζονται και σχολιάζονται παραδείγματα του 16ου αιώνα, από το εργαστήριο των θηβαίων ζωγράφων Γεωργίου και Φράγκου Κονταρή και του Φράγκου Κατελάνου, καθώς και πολλά παραδείγματα, από τον 17ο και 18ο αιώνα, όπου το θέμα αναπτύσσεται με πρωτοτυπία και αποκτά μεγαλύτερη διάδοση, η οποία συνδέεται με την ανάπτυξη οργανωμένων τοπικών εργαστηρίων από την Ήπειρο, όπως των Λινοτοπιτών και των Καπεσοβιτών, και την συνακόλουθη αναβάθμιση του επαγγέλματος του ζωγράφου στις περιοχές αυτές. In this article the particular diffusion of the theme of the Evangelist Luke as painter of the icon of the Virgin in mainland Greece is studied. Examples from the 16th century from the workshops of the Theban painters Georgios and Frangos Kontaris and Frangos Katelanos are presented and discussed, as well as many examples from the 17th and 18th centuries when the theme is developed in innovative ways and spreads further. This diffusion is related to the development of organized local workshops from Epirus, such as those of the painters from Linotopi and from Kapesovo and to the consequent upgrading of the status of the profession of the painter in these regions.
