Η παρούσα μελέτη εξετάζει το σύνολο των λύχνων που βρέθηκαν στο Κτήριο C-D του Ιερού του Ερμή και της Αφροδίτης στη Σύμη Βιάννου. Εκτός από λίγους λύχνους των ύστερων ελληνιστικών χρόνων, η πλειοψηφία των λύχνων χρονολογείται από τον 1ο έως τον 3ο αι. μ.Χ. Από τη μελέτη της εικονογραφίας δεν προκύπτει άμεση σύνδεση των διακοσμητικών θεμάτων τους με τη λατρεία των δύο θεοτήτων. Ελάχιστοι λύχνοι που χρονολογούνται στον 6ο-7ο αι. μ.Χ., βρέθηκαν κοντά στη πηγή στα ανατολικά του ανασκαφικού χώρου, συνδέονται με την κατασκευή σύγχρονου βυζαντινού ναϊδρίου, αλλά και με τη συνεχή ιερότητα του χώρου κατά τη χριστιανική περίοδο."
