      "@value" : "SUMMARY\nImmunotherapy includes techniques to boost natural immune\nresistance to tumours with both vaccines and biologic\nresponse modifiers, primarily cytokines involved in modulating\nimmune responses. The occasional dramatic disappearance\nof widespread metastases is probably attributable,\nin most cases, to a brisk and successful immunologic\nresponse. The occasional patient who survives in the face\nof known metastatic disease for a decade or more is probably\nalso a testament to an effective immunologic host response.\nThese occasional examples demonstrate the power\nof the immune system to arrest or even cure what appears\nto be a hopeless case. Clearly, we would like to be able to\nachieve this result deliberately in all cancer victims. The\nkey to achieving predictable and significant immune responses\nin cancer patients lies in a better understanding of\nthe nature of tumour immunity."
