      "@value" : "SUMMARY\nWithin a period of one year two children were treated for a\ntransverse intraluminal chord of the esophagus, which\ndeveloped following repair of the esophageal atresia and\nperipheral tracheo-esophageal fistula. The chord was\nlocated at the level of the anastomosis in the upper third of\nthe esophagus. In the first child, the chord was partially\nobstructing the esophageal lumen, causing severe dysphagia\nand requiring dilatation. In the second child, the chord was\ncausing only mild stenosis and minimal symptoms. There\nwere no available instruments suitable for the transsection\nof the chord and a special snare was improvised on site.\nThe etiology of this singular formation is unknown. A\npossible explanation for this formation is discussed.\nKey words: Esophageal atresia, stenosis, transverse chorde"
