    }, "Στη μελέτη αυτή –με βάση την επεξεργασία ενός κτηματολογίου της Σύρου που χρονολογείται στα πρώτα χρόνια του 19ου αιώνα και φυλάσσεται στο Αρχείο του Δήμου Άνω Σύρου και περιλαμβάνει 1.443 οικογενειακές μερίδες- επιχειρείται να αποκατασταθεί το προφίλ των Συριανών στην προεπαναστατική εποχή. Καταρχήν με βάση το ονοματολογικό υλικό διερευνάται ο τόπος καταγωγής, η επαγγελματική ιδιότητα, ο χρόνος εγκατάστασης στη Σύρο αλλά και οι διακλαδώσεις των οικογενειών, η σταθερότητα των επωνύμων και η έκταση των συνεπωνυμιών. Η περιουσιακή κατάσταση είναι ένα δεύτερο πεδίο που το κατάστιχο παρέχει πολύτιμο υλικό καθώς επιτρέπει να ανιχνευτεί η διαβάθμιση της συριανής κοινωνίας με βάση την κατοχή ακίνητης περιουσίας, το μέγεθος των ιδιοκτησιών, ο κατακερματισμός των αγροτικών ακινήτων. Η μελέτη κλείνει με παράρτημα οικογενειακών ονομάτων της Σύρου όπου επισημαίνεται ο χρόνος, η προέλευση και η συχνότητα εμφάνισής τους." ],
