Packaging is one of the most important elements that characterize product design: it is not only the outfit of the product that creates a first impression to the client, but it is a whole communicational code. This fact has b een identified by the companies and has generated high competition between them: nowadays the most successful companies are being informed by the every day ’ s trends on packaging design and try to apply those trends upon their own designs. T he present pap er describes the packaging design in today ’ s industries and the above- mentioned trends that exist nowadays. It will therefore figure out what makes a package design successful, from the company ’ s perspective and how the company studies such factors to manag e the best result. Those factors and the research ’ s results are going to be applied upon the Oil packaging design, as a case study on the dissertation ending up in a final packaging design solution (EN)
