Στο κεφάλαιο 7 γίνεται εκτενής παρουσίαση των μεθόδων παραγωγής των κουκουλιών του μεταξοσκώληκα, ξεκινώντας από την ημέρα ωρίμανσης των προνυμφών στην 5η ηλικία της προνύμφης. Παρουσιάζονται οι τρόποι παραγωγής, συγκομιδής, διαλογής, ξήρανσης και αποθήκευσης των κουκουλιών μέχρι την αναπήνισή τους στο αναπηνιστήριο.

Chapter 7 gives an extensive presentation of the methods of production of silkworm cocoons starting from the day of the onset of cocoon spinning at the end of the 5th larval instar. In this chapter, the methods of cocoon production, cocoon harvesting, sorting, drying and storing are described in sufficient detail.
