A method is suggested for the estimation of the physicochemical parameters associated with the entire phenomenon of detonation of explosive mixtures, exclusively containing the atomic species C,H,N,O, and expected to yield gaseous products. The equation of state applied for the products is a modified Abel equation. The calculation algorithm developed, constitutes the frame of construction of a computer program. The input required are the initial composition and apparent density of the explosive mixture and the final work production pressure. Sample applications for pure pentaerythrite tetranitrate detonation, TNT-ammonium nitrate-water slurries, and dry mixtures explosions are provided. (EN)
