High spin levels in Te-119 have been populated following the Zr-96 (Si-30, alpha 3n) Te-119 reaction at a beam energy of 135 MeV. The subsequent gamma-ray deexcitation was studied using gamma-ray spectroscopic methods. New levels and several spin and parity assignments up to J(pi)= 55/2(-) were established. The decay scheme at high-spin exhibits single-particle characteristics associated with the fully aligned nu(h(11/2))(3) pi(g(7/2))(2) configuration for the 39/2(-) level, while the 55/2(-) level could be interpreted as fully aligned pi(d(5/2))(2) nu(h(11/2)(5) g(7/2)(-2)) configuration.
