This region where both Ziegler&apos;s and static criterion may fail to predict the actual critical load is defined via two values (bounds) of the nonconservativeness loading parameter eta; the upper bound corresponds to eta = 0.5 (being invariant with respect to all other parameters), whereas the lower bound corresponds to a double critical (divergence) point beyond which there are no adjacent equilibria. The location of the last point (lying always between eta = 0 and 0.5) depends on a stiffness parameter. It is also found that the region of nonexistence of adjacent equilibria becomes maximum (minimum) when the double critical point corresponds to eta = 0.5 (eta = 0). The interaction of vanishing damping with various parameters leads to new phenomena related to point and periodic attractors as well as to a new type of dynamic bifurcation.</dc:description><dc:identifier>http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/12220</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>35</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ISI:A1997WM09800014</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>3</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>0001-1452</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>518</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>509</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:publisher xml:lang='en'>AMER INST AERONAUT ASTRONAUT</dc:publisher><dc:source xml:lang='en'>AIAA Journal</dc:source><dc:subject rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc-classifier/1563740051'></dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>DIVERGENCE INSTABILITY</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>REGIONS</dc:subject><dc:title xml:lang='en'>Criteria for occurrence of flutter instability before buckling in nonconservative dissipative systems</dc:title><dc:type rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Journal-part'></dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Scientific-article'></dc:type><dc:type xml:lang='en'>journalArticle</dc:type><dcterms:created>1997</dcterms:created></edm:ProvidedCHO><skos:Concept rdf:about='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Journal-part'><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='el'>Δημοσίευση σε περιοδικό</skos:prefLabel><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='en'>Publication in journal</skos:prefLabel><skos:broader rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Issue-segment'></skos:broader></skos:Concept><skos:Concept rdf:about='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc-classifier/1563740051'><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='el'>Αεροδιαστημική μηχανική</skos:prefLabel><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='en'>Aerospace Engineering</skos:prefLabel><skos:broader rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc-classifier/930845496'></skos:broader><skos:exactMatch rdf:resource='http://vocabularies.unesco.org/thesaurus/concept1569'></skos:exactMatch><skos:exactMatch rdf:resource='http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh95007821'></skos:exactMatch><skos:exactMatch rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc/1563740051'></skos:exactMatch><skos:note xml:lang='en'>isi - Engineering, Aerospace includes resources concerned with astronautics, aeronautics, aerospace, and aviation.
