Electrical conductivity studies in hydrogels (EN)

Kyritsis, A (EN)
Pissis, P (EN)

The electrical conductivity of poly(hydroxyethyl acrylate) PHEA, hydrogels was studied by means of dielectric relaxation spectroscopy in wide ranges of frequency (5 Hz-2 GHz), temperature (173-363 K) and water content (0.065-0.46 g of water per gram of dry material). The data are analyzed within the formalisms of permittivity, impedance and modulus. The results are discussed in terms of temperature- and water-induced effects, shape of the response, fragility and homogeneous-heterogeneous nature of the hydrogels. (EN)
