Analytical functions are fitted to the available experimental data using a least-squares-type approach for determining the parameters of the fitting function. The success of using a particular function for an application is assessed through a suitably defined mean error of the model. Apart from presenting the method for setting up these analytical representations, applications to performance modeling and fault diagnosis are discussed. The change in model parameters is used to characterize changes of the engine condition and possibly diagnose occurring faults. The impact of introducing analytical component models into overall engine computer models, replacing a tabulated form of the component maps, is also discussed.</dc:description><dc:identifier>http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/12330</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>13</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>674</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>ISI:A1997XW13600012</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>5</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>665</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>0748-4658</dc:identifier><dc:language>eng</dc:language><dc:publisher xml:lang='en'>AMER INST AERONAUT ASTRONAUT</dc:publisher><dc:source xml:lang='en'>Journal of Propulsion and Power</dc:source><dc:subject rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc-classifier/1563740051'></dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Fault diagnosis</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Least squares approximations</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Computer simulation</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Compressors</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Functions</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Mathematical models</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Curve fitting</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Mass transfer</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Turbines</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Jet engines</dc:subject><dc:title xml:lang='en'>Jet engine component maps for performance modeling and diagnosis</dc:title><dc:type rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Journal-part'></dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Scientific-article'></dc:type><dc:type xml:lang='en'>journalArticle</dc:type><dcterms:created>1997</dcterms:created></edm:ProvidedCHO><skos:Concept rdf:about='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Journal-part'><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='el'>Δημοσίευση σε περιοδικό</skos:prefLabel><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='en'>Publication in journal</skos:prefLabel><skos:broader rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/openarchives-item-types/Issue-segment'></skos:broader></skos:Concept><skos:Concept rdf:about='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc-classifier/1563740051'><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='el'>Αεροδιαστημική μηχανική</skos:prefLabel><skos:prefLabel xml:lang='en'>Aerospace Engineering</skos:prefLabel><skos:broader rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc-classifier/930845496'></skos:broader><skos:exactMatch rdf:resource='http://vocabularies.unesco.org/thesaurus/concept1569'></skos:exactMatch><skos:exactMatch rdf:resource='http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh95007821'></skos:exactMatch><skos:exactMatch rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc/1563740051'></skos:exactMatch><skos:note xml:lang='en'>isi - Engineering, Aerospace includes resources concerned with astronautics, aeronautics, aerospace, and aviation.
