Recent educational research suggests that even very young children are capable of understanding their world from a scientific perspective. In these term, we attempted to analyze the central views about the introduction of the new domain specific knowledge, e.g. technology, and the content enlargement of cognitive subjects such as mathematics and science in early childhood education. Two trends have been identified and analyzed. The traditional one seems to consider the elaboration of these cognitive subjects to be particularly difficult especially in the kindergarten. The second one, on the opposite, supports their meaningful incorporation in the kindergarten curriculum. (EN)
