This study was carried out to investigate professionals' attitudes on some issues concerning early childhood education. A questionnaire was distributed to 131 professionals in a variety of Centers of Early childhood care and education (Nurseries and Kindergartens). The results showed that parenthood is a significant factor that influences professionals' attitudes towards (a) their discussions with young children (p<0.01) and (b) starting age for early preparation in reading, maths and writing (p<0.00 1). Also it was identified that professionals' views towards the critical issues of curriculum, care and education are positively associated with future changes we might have in the field. These findings support the view that professionals' attitudes should not be regarded as stable or known but they play an important role in the success of early childhood education. (EN)
