      "@value" : "Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) prevalence is 10-12% of the general population. \nCKD etiology is broad. Irrespective of its causes, CKD progression is related \nto renal fibrosis which is the final end-point of most of kidney diseases. It \nis defined as the accumulation of extracellular matrix into the renal \ninterstitium. In the UUO model of renal fibrosis, calreticulin was found to be \nup-regulated at epithelial tubular cells from the early stages of renal \nfibrosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of calreticulin in \nrenal fibrosis and more specific, to investigate how the cellular phenotype of \nkidney epithelial tubular cells is altered during calreticulin over-expression. \nThree proximal tubular cell lines with increased expression of calreticulin \nwere studied with Proteomic Analysis. The identified differentially expressed \nproteins were categorized and protein-to-protein interaction networks were \ncreated. We focused on 14-3-3 proteins since their role and their involvement \nin renal fibrosis remains unexplored.  14-3-3 protein up-regulation was \nconfirmed in vitro. Using the UUO model in rat and mouse, 14-3-3 protein \nexpression was found to be up-regulated in the kidneys from the early stages of \nrenal fibrosis, using q-PCR, immunihistochemistry and immunofluorescence."

      "@value" : "Η Χρόνια Νεφρική Νόσος(ΧΝΝ) προσβάλλει το 10-12% του γενικού πληθυσμού. \nΑνεξάρτητα από το αίτιο που την προκαλεί, η εξέλιξή της συσχετίζεται με τη \nνεφρική ίνωση,  η οποία είναι το τελικό αποτέλεσμα των περισσοτέρων νεφρικών \nνοσημάτων και ορίζεται ως η συσσώρευση εξωκυττάριας ουσίας στο διάμεσο νεφρικό \nχώρο. Στο μοντέλο νεφρικής ίνωσης UUO διαπιστώθηκε ότι, η calreticulin \nυπερεκφράζεται από τα αρχικά στάδια της ινωτικής διεργασίας κυρίως στα \nεπιθηλιακά σωληναριακά κύτταρα. Σκοπός της μελέτης ήταν η διερεύνηση του ρόλου \nτης calreticulin στη νεφρική ίνωση και, συγκεκριμένα, η διερεύνηση του πώς \nμεταβάλλονται οι ιδιότητες των επιθηλιακών νεφρικών κυττάρων κατά την \nυπερέκφρασή της. Χρησιμοποιήθηκαν τρεις σειρές ανθρώπινων κυττάρων εγγύς \nσωληναρίου με αυξανόμενη έκφραση calreticulin, οι οποίες μελετήθηκαν με \nΠρωτεωμική Ανάλυση. Μέσω λογισμικών προγραμμάτων, οι ταυτοποιημένες διαφορικά \nεκφραζόμενες πρωτεΐνες κατηγοριοποιήθηκαν και, στη συνέχεια, δημιουργήθηκαν \nδίκτυα αλληλεπίδρασης πρωτεϊνών. Ως πρωτεΐνες μεγαλύτερου ενδιαφέροντος προς \nπεραιτέρω μελέτη, επιλέγηκαν οι πρωτεΐνες 14-3-3 αφού, μέχρι σήμερα, ο ρόλος \nκαι η συμμετοχή τους στη νεφρική ίνωση δεν έχει ακόμα διερευνηθεί. Η \nυπερέκφρασή τους επιβεβαιώθηκε in vitro. Στη συνέχεια, στο μοντέλο UUO, \nδιαπιστώθηκε, σε αρουραίο και ποντίκι, τόσο με q-PCR όσο και με ανοσοϊστοχημεία \nκαι ανοσοφθορισμό, η υπερέκφραση των 14-3-3 πρωτεϊνών στο νεφρικό ιστό και \nμάλιστα από τα αρχικά στάδια της ινωτικής διεργασίας."
