Ένα τέτοιο νευροτροποποιητικό σύστημα είναι η C-bouton\nσύναψη. Τα C-boutons είναι μεγάλες, χολινεργικές συνάψεις πάνω σε κινητικούς \nνευρώνες. Στον νωτιαίο μυελό έχουν καθοριστικό ρόλο στην αύξηση της \nδραστηριότητας των κινητικών νευρώνων και στην ενεργοποίηση των μυών, με την \nακετυλοχολίνη να δρα ως νευροτροποποιητής. Βρήκαμε ότι τα C-boutons \nπροέρχονται από νευρώνες που\nχαρακτηρίζονται από την έκφραση του μεταγραφικού παράγοντα Pitx2. Στην παρούσα \nεργασία αποδείξαμε ότι και στο εγκεφαλικό στέλεχος υπάρχουν Pitx2+ \nχολινεργικοί διάμεσοι νευρώνες. Στους κινητικούς νευρώνες του εγκεφαλικού \nστελέχους υπάρχουν C-bouton συνάψεις που προέρχονται από Pitx2+ χολινεργικούς \nνευρώνες. Τα αποτελέσματα αυτά επεκτείνουν τα ήδη υπάρχοντα ευρήματα για την \nνευροτροποποίηση από C-bouton συνάψεις σε όλο το ΚΝΣ και προσφέρουν νέο πλαίσιο \nγια την μελέτη της νευροτροποποίησης." }, { "@language" : "en", "@value" : "The rhythmic motor behaviors such us locomotion and respiration should be \nadjusted so that an organism can cope with the diverse requirements in \ndifferent environments. The neural circuitry that organizes them needs to be \nflexible. For\nexample, the rate of breathing should be modified depending on the mechanical \nand metabolic requirements of different conditions or behavioral tasks. The \nflexibility that is needed is provided partially by neuromodulatory systems \nwhich alter the functional properties of the neurons and change the output of \nthe neural circuit. One such system is the neuromodulatory C-bouton synapse. \nThe C-boutons are large, cholinergic synapses onto motor neurons. In the spinal \ncord they play a vital role as they increase the activity of motor neurons and \nactivation muscle as acetylcholine acts as a neuromodulator. We found that \nC-boutons from neurons originate from neurons that are characterized from the \nexpression of the transcription factor Pitx2. In this study we demonstrated \nPitx2+ cholinergic interneurons neurons exist at the brainstem. In the motor \nbrainstem motor neurons there are C-boutons that originate from Pitx2+ \ncholinergic neurons.
