Ειδικότερα, στόχο για την εσωτερική ασφάλειά της αποτελεί η αντιμετώπιση των Κούρδων είτε επιχειρησιακά είτε μέσω της αφομοίωσής τους, ενώ στόχο εξωτερικής ασφάλειας αποτελεί η άσκηση πιέσεων και επιρροής στις εξελίξεις εντός των γειτονικών κρατών, ενισχύοντας έτσι τη θέση της ως μια περιφερειακή υδροηγεμονική υπερδύναμη.</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang='en'>Water is a necessary resource regarding the existence of life and its importance has been indisputable since the beginning of the creation of the universe. Thus, in an effort for people to be near water, the source of life, it is observed that the expansion of all ancient civilizations has been taken place within areas near water sources. One of these areas was Mesopotamia, which is bordered by the rivers Euphrates and Tigris. The two rivers rise in the region of southeastern Turkey, making it a riverside country ruler, while Iraq and Syria are directly water-dependent and in an undeniably disadvantaged position. Since the 1970s, there have been disputes between these riparian countries regarding population growth, pursuit of food security, energy needs, economic and technological development, political fragmentation, international water laws, availability and management, water and public awareness. Of course, Turkey, as an upstream country, is mainly trying to benefits from these rivers water flow through the GAP construction project which includes levees and hydroelectric power stations. Turkey aims to both manage river basins and achieve its internal and external security goals via GAP. Particularly, the goal of its internal security is to deal with Kurds either operationally or through their assimilation. On the other hand, the goal regarding Turkey’s external security is to exert pressure and influence on developments within neighboring states, thus strengthening its position as a regional hydro-hegemonic superpower.</dc:description><dc:identifier>uoadl:3176461</dc:identifier><dc:language>gre</dc:language><dc:rights rdf:resource='https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/'></dc:rights><dc:subject rdf:resource='http://semantics.gr/authorities/EKT-voc-classifier/1979939659'></dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='el'>Θετικές Επιστήμες</dc:subject><dc:subject xml:lang='en'>Science</dc:subject><dc:title>«Διαχείριση Υδατικών Πόρων: Αναδυόμενες Προκλήσεις σε Θέματα Γεωπολιτικής, Οικονομίας και Κοινωνίας.
