      "@value" : "The main objective of this thesis is the study of the heat equation in the hyperbolic\nspace and the heat kernel in particular.\nThe first chapter is an introduction to basic concepts, which are necessary for the\nchapters to follow. These are the following:\n• The Laplace – Beltrami operator\n• The functional calculus theorem\n• Fourier transfom\n• The definition of the heat kernel in a manifold M\n• The hyperbolic space Hn\n• Function spaces on Hn\nThese topics are not presented in an extensive way, due to the fact that they are not\nthe main focus of study in this thesis.\nThe second chapter includes in detail the proofs of Hardy and Poincare inequalities\nin Hn. Utilizing the second inequality we estimated the asymptotic behavior of the\nsolution for the heat equation in Hn.\nThe third chapter contains a detailed proof for the heat kernel where the case is\nn=3. This proof is elementary from a theoretical point of view, however it required\nextensive and complicated calculations.\nThe fourth and final chapter of this thesis is dedicated to the main objective of\nthis study, which was to prove a formula, for the heat kernel in the hyperbolic space\nHn. Similar proofs have already been discovered before, like the one presented in\nthe article [2] written by E. B. Davies and N. Mandouvalos. Nevertheless, in this\nthesis a completely different approach was adopted, utilizing:\n1 The existing relation between the heat kernel and the kernel of the wave\nequation and\n2 The formula for the kernel of the wave equation in symmetric spaces."

      "@value" : "Σκοπός της εργασίας αυτής, είναι η μελέτη της εξίσωσης της θερμότητας στον\nυπερβολικό χώρο και ιδιαιτέρως του πυρήνα θερμότητας.\nΣτο πρώτο, εισαγωγικό, κεφάλαιο παρουσιάζονται βασικές έννοιες και αποτελέ-\nσματα, τα οποία θα χρησιμοποιηθούν στα επόμενα κεφάλαια.\nΟι έννοιες που παρουσιάζονται είναι:\n• Ο τελεστής Laplace - Beltrami\n• Το θεώρημα του συναρτησιακού λογισμού\n• Ο μετασχηματισμός Fourier\n• Ο ορισμός του πυρήνα θερμότητας σε μια πολλαπλότητα M\n• Ο υπερβολικός χώρος Hn\n• Χώροι συναρτήσεων στον Hn\nΟι έννοιες αυτές, δεν παρουσιάζονται αναλυτικά, καθώς δεν είναι αντικείμενο της\nπαρούσης εργασίας.\nΣτο δεύτερο κεφάλαιο, παρουσιάζονται λεπτομερώς οι αποδείξεις των ανισοτή-\nτων Hardy και Poincaré στον Hn. Τέλος, κάνοντας χρήση της δεύτερης ανισότητας\nπαίρνουμε μια εκτίμηση για την ασυμπτωτική συμπεριφορά της λύσης, για την\nεξίσωση της θερμότητας στον Hn.\nΣτο τρίτο κεφάλαιο, δίνεται η απόδειξη για τον τύπο του πυρήνα θερμότητας\nστην περίπτωση n = 3. Η απόδειξη αυτή είναι στοιχειώδης απο θεωρητική άποψη,\nαλλά περιέχει πολύπλοκους και μεγάλους σε έκταση υπολογισμούς.\nΤο τέταρτο και τελευταίο κεφάλαιο, είναι αφιερωμένο στο κύριο αποτέλεσμα της\nεργασίας αυτής, που είναι απόδειξη ενός τύπου για τον πυρήνα θερμότητας στον\nHn. Τέτοιου είδους αποτελέσματα, για τον πυρήνα θερμότητας υπάρχουν ήδη, όπως\nαυτό που παρουσιάζεται στο άρθρο [2] των E. B. Davies και N. Mandouvalos. Στην\nεργασία αυτή όμως, οι τύποι προκύπτουν με έναν εντελώς διαφορετικό τρόπο,\nαξιοποιώντας:\n1 την σχέση που υπάρχει ανάμεσα στον πυρήνα θερμότητας και τον πυρήνα\nτης κυματικής εξίσωσης και\n2 τον τύπο για τον πυρήνα της κυματικής εξίσωσης σε συμμετρικούς χώρους."
