      "@value" : "In the Greek literature,   the   issue   of   animal   protection,   and   especially   of companion   animals,   is presented extensively. The provisions of laws which require humane treatment of all kinds of animals, prohibit abusive behavior and generally ensure animal welfare, are highlighted and further commented on. In this paper, an attempt is made to highlight the issue with a different look. There is a general overview of the legislation applied in Greece that concerns animals and how, under the cloak of these legislations, humans   grant   ourselves   the   right   to   use   animals for various  purposes  that primarily benefit ourselves, such as to take their lives, exploit them for their flesh, their fur, or manage   them   in   ways   that   make   our   lives   more   fun   or   more   convenient.   The   issue   of instrumentalization of animals and commercialization of their body parts is highlighted.  It is also emphasized that although animals are defined by law as sentient beings, at the same time, the legislator himself describes in detail the most gruesome acts that we humans are allowed to do against the sentient beings."

      "@value" : "Στην ελληνική βιβλιογραφία παρουσιάζεται εκτενώς το ζήτημα της προστασίας των ζώων, και κυρίως των ζώων συντροφιάς. Τονίζονται  και περαιτέρω σχολιάζονται οι διατάξεις νόμων οι οποίες επιβάλουν στους ανθρώπους την ανθρώπινη μεταχείριση προς όλα τα είδη ζώων,  απαγορεύουν κακοποιητικές συμπεριφορές και γενικά εξασφαλίζουν στα ζώα την ευζωία. \nΣτην παρούσα μελέτη γίνεται μια προσπάθεια να αναδειχθεί το ζήτημα με  μια διαφορετική ματιά. Γίνεται μια γενική επισκόπηση της νομοθεσίας που εφαρμόζεται στην Ελλάδα και που αφορά στα ζώα και πώς,  υπό τον μανδύα των νομοθετημάτων αυτών,  οι άνθρωποι απονέμουμε στον εαυτό μας το δικαίωμα να χρησιμοποιήσουμε τα ζώα για διάφορους σκοπούς που ωφελούν κατά κύριο λόγο εμάς τους ίδιους , όπως να τους αφαιρούμε τη ζωή, να τα εκμεταλλευόμαστε για τη σάρκα τους, τη γούνα τους , ή να τα διαχειριζόμαστε με τρόπους ώστε η ζωή μας να είναι πιο διασκεδαστική ή πιο βολική. Υπογραμμίζεται το ζήτημα της εργαλειοποίησης των ζώων και εμπορευματοποίησης των τμημάτων των σωμάτων τους. Τονίζεται επίσης  ότι τα ζώα ορίζονται από τους νόμος ως συναισθανόμενα όντα  την ίδια στιγμή,  ο ίδιος ο νομοθέτης περιγράφει με λεπτομέρειες τις πιο μακάβριες πράξεις που επιτρέπονται σε εμάς τους ανθρώπους κατά των συναισθανόμενων όντων."
